CURRENT WORKSHOPS

The School of Oppor­tu­nity is excited to present a series of learn­ing work­shops at Warm Min­eral Springs.
These work­shop series will include:

Tech­nol­ogy Today Series will include four (4) work­shops (one 90-minute work­shop per week) designed so that par­tic­i­pants will 1) develop a work­ing knowl­edge of Google tech­nol­ogy and how it can be inte­grated into all aspects of one’s busi­ness, social, fam­ily and per­sonal life, and 2) engage in a process that posi­tions tech­nol­ogy as a tool to expand per­sonal capac­ity for learn­ing.
Series Cost: $125.00 (includes all 4 workshops).

The work­shops are:

• You got mail, I got a life (Gmail) — Sep­tem­ber 18, 2012 from 3–4:30 PM
  Have your email enhance your life vs. chain­ing you to your com­puter. You will leave this hands– on GMail work­shop a bet­ter com­mu­ni­ca­tor, more orga­nized, and less stressed.
• Have your peo­ple meet with my peo­ple (Google Cal­en­dar) –Sep­tem­ber 25, 2012 from 3–4:30 PM
  Find time to do the things you want to be doing by get­ting orga­nized and on sched­ule with Google Calendar.
• I don’t need to be attached (Google Docs) — Octo­ber 2, 2012 from 3–4:30 PM
  Become unat­tached from your attach­ments and hard­ware with Google Docs and Drive. Learn how to cre­ate fliers, slide shows, and forms from any­where at any time on the cloud, and then share them with whomever you want.
• Show the world who you are (Google Sites) — Octo­ber 9, 2012 from 3–4:30 PM
  Learn how to cre­ate a web­site with Google Sites with­out hav­ing to learn a sin­gle line of code. Express your cre­ativ­ity through text, images, videos, blogs, pre­sen­ta­tions and more. Show the world who you are, or cre­ate a pri­vate site where you con­trol who can access your site.

Note: Stu­dents must bring lap­tops (PC or MAC) with wire­less capa­bil­ity, power cord or bat­tery charged that can last a min­i­mum 2 hours.

• Com­mu­ni­cat­ing for Greater Con­nec­tion — Sep­tem­ber 18, 2012 from 1–2:30 PM
  Com­mu­ni­ca­tion is the process we use to con­nect mean­ing­fully with oth­ers. Mas­ter­ing com­mu­ni­ca­tion is a life­long learn­ing process and we offer tools and insights to empower you and your relationships.
• Pos­i­tive Power — Sep­tem­ber 25, 2012 from 1–2:30 PM
  Achiev­ing opti­mum well­ness begins in the Mind. Mak­ing the deci­sion about what to focus on and “how” to see and inter­pret it begins the flow out­ward to the real­ity that is cre­ated and experienced.
• Resilience: Skills for Change — Octo­ber 2, 2012 from 1–2:30 PM
  The change we expe­ri­ence now is of greater vol­ume, com­plex­ity and fre­quency. Increased Resilience is linked sci­en­tif­i­cally to bet­ter men­tal, emo­tional and phys­i­cal wellness.
• Cre­at­ing Pos­si­bil­i­ties through Civil­ity — Octo­ber 9, 2012 from 1–2:30 PM
  Civil­ity is fun­da­men­tal to the mak­ing of a good, suc­cess­ful and serene life. It is an atti­tude and a set of beliefs and skills. Let’s revisit them together and co-create a higher vibra­tion that is civility.
